Weekday Food Servers:  (Mon-Fri  5:45 PM – 7:00 PM)
Duties:
Help setup and serve the weekday dinner, which is delivered to the Shelter already hot and prepared.  Three or four servers can comfortably serve dinner each evening.  This is more suited for individuals than groups.

Weekday Meal Provider:  (Mon-Fri  5:45 PM – 7:00 PM)
Duties:
Plan, prepare and serve a weekday dinner.  The meal can be planned and prepared by any number of people, however only three or four persons can comfortably serve.  The meal is usually served to between 100 – 120 clients.  Recipes and meal planning ideas are available upon request.

Greeter:  (Daily  7:30 PM – 9:00 PM)
Duties:
Meet and greet clients.  The main duty is to help new clients feel comfortable as you review the rules, routines and acquire needed information.  This is a great way to explore and help understand the world of homelessness.  A greeter must be comfortable in working with all people in our community regardless of their ethnic, racial, mental, physical or economic background. Three week training is required for this position.

Shelter Office/Staff Aide:  (Daily  5:30 PM – 7:30 PM)
Duties:
Assist shelter staff during peak times distributing dinner supplies, shower supplies and bedding. These duties require direct contact with 120+ clients nightly.

ICH Overflow Shelter:  (Daily  7:00 PM – 8:00 AM)
Duties:
Two volunteers work together to facilitate a safe and secure atmosphere for our shelter’s families and single women.  The primary goal is to provide our clients with some aspect of a “home”.  It is essential for the children to have this time to play, interact with their parents and other children; things that are difficult to provide at our regular shelter.  Providing treats and planning activities for the children are welcome.  We provide this service at a local church, which changes monthly.  Our shelter staff is available throughout the night as needed.   This is an excellent opportunity for students since you will have opportunities to sleep and are afford quiet time for homework.

Daytime Office Volunteer: (Various times)
Duties:
Filing, data entry and basic office duties.  Please contact Shawn Ison.

Gardening/Yard Work: (Various times)
Duties:
General landscape and maintenance of the shelter lawn; this is a great volunteer opportunity that always needs attention.

Fundraising:  (Various times)
Fundraising can be extremely fun and rewarding!  We invite you to share in the experience of helping out in our community
