Governor’s Proposed state budget Includes deep cuts to child care

English VersionProposed Cuts to Child Care for 2012/2013

  • $516.8 million in State funding is proposed to be cut
  • A reduction of income eligibility from 70% to 61.5% of the State Median Income.
    A reduction of the Regional Market Rate (RMR) Ceiling from the 85th percentile of 2005 to the 50th percentile of 2009.
  • Services limited to families that meet the Federal Work Requirements
  • Realign child care services to county Department of Social Services
