Family Childcare Services
The State child development program operates a Family Child Care Option which provides child care services to children in a licensed child care home setting with contracted providers. Providers receive the benefits of training and support by an assigned Family Childcare Specialist. The childcare option provides many enhanced features for participating providers and families.
- Regular visits to the licensed home to ensure health and safety
- Requirements that the business carry liability insurance
- Requirements that the provider and assistants obtain periodic Tuberculosis tests and CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Monthly provider trainings on a variety of topics
- Developmental assessments are completed on each child
- Environment rating scales completed on the home annually and needed improvements made to increase program quality
- Parent education opportunities provided
