The CAPSLO Migrant and Seasonal Head Start (MSHS) program provides high quality, no-cost child care and preschool services to low-income families whose primary income is from agricultural production or harvesting.

The program serves families with children from the birth through age five, with some additional services for pregnant women.

Since 1981, CAPSLO Migrant and Seasonal Head Start has provided child care programs with the needs of migrant farm working families in mind. The program offers a blend of center-based preschool and family child care options close to where families live and work with schedules that accommodate the long hours associated with agricultural work.

Migrant and Seasonal Head Start is more than just “day care”-- the program helps children get ready to succeed in school and life by focusing on the child’s overall health and development, while helping parents increase their confidence through education and program involvement opportunities.
